Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park established in 1983, is one of the most important areas for viewing marine diversity. It is situated at Wandoor, 29 km from Sri Vijaya Puram. Total area of this Marine National Park is 281.50 sq.km. which includes 220 sq.km. of territorial sea water. There are 15 small and large islands in the Park with beautiful sandy beaches and creeks full of lush green Mangroves and tropical forests. Rich marine life consists of variety of coral reefs, colourful fishes, molluscs, shells, starfish, turtles, salt-water crocodile etc.
Mount Manipur National Park, previously known as Mount Harriet National Park, is a national park located in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands union territory of India. The park, established in 1969, covers about 4.62 km2. Mount Manipur (383 metres (1,257 ft), which is part of the park, is the third-highest peak in the Andaman and Nicobar archipelago next to Saddle Peak (732 metres (2,402 ft) in North Andaman and Mount Thullier (568 metres (1,864 ft) in Great Nicobar. The construction of Cellular Jail started in 1896 and completed in 1906. Spread as seven spokes of a bicycle wheel, this unique three-storied structure was the first of its kind in India as it had 693 cells specially built for solitary confinement of the prisoners. Extraordinary feature of the Jail was the total absence of communication between prisoners housed in different wings since the front of the row of cells faced the back of the other. A two-storied building at left side near the entrance of the Jail was constructed to be used as Jail hospital.
Corbyn's Cove beach- the coconut-palm fringed beach, six kilometers away from Sri Vijaya Puram town is ideal for swimming and sun-basking. Facilities like hotel, restaurant, bar, changing room, adventure water-sports are available here. Historical remains like Japanese Bunkers can be seen on the way to this beach. The Snake Island situated just across the beach is popular for scuba diving. The Waves Restaurant & Beer Bar run by Tourism department provides delightful cuisine at reasonable rates in a soothing ambience.
